Handmade Kissing Balls are a great way to add a splash of color to your front porch or entryway. Made from fresh evergreen branches, they measure about 12" -14" in diameter and are topped with a red ribbon. They can be hung indoors or out, anywhere you might put a swag.
In Victorian times, Kissing Balls were a popular holiday decoration. Ladies would take fragrant greenery, herbs, and flowers and arrange them with ribbons and other embellishments - the result was often quite ornate. When mistletoe was used in the mix, it was a tradition to pause underneath one to steal a kiss. Perhaps for this reason, kissing balls were also popular at weddings, and still are today!
